The seller reached out to me to resolve my issues. She said that she would send the missing battery for the remote and provided test documentation to show the effectiveness of the light. She let me know that the test card only shows when exposed to UVC. So you need to video the test card in order to confirm the light works and to be safe. I also confirmed that the light was a UVC light by putting a banana with a piece of tape on it (see picture) and it did turn the banana. I have decided to keep because I prefer a UVC light that doesn’t produce ozone. The seller is responsive and I can recommend the light.
— I was happy when we initial received the light because this UV-C light doesn’t produce ozone. I purchased a UV-C last year that produces ozone and we have ended up only using it in an outside building because the ozone smell is very strong and lingered in our house for months.
Unfortunately my excitement didn’t last long. I pulled the lamp out of the box and it was packaged upside down. There’s nothing wrong with it being packaged that way but it was just unusual. I then picked up the remote and it felt very light but It did have a pull tab for the “battery” inserted in the end of the remote. I read the instructions and plugged the lamp up. The remote didn’t work because it ultimately it didn’t have a battery. So I pushed the button on the lamp to start it up and placed the test card that comes with it 3 feet away. The test card never turned, so now I’m not sure if this is truly a UV-C light or just a pretty blue light. The light does produce a small amount of smell but it does dissipate in 15 minutes and not near as bad of smell as the ozone producing light that we have. With all this said, the motion detection does work and is very sensitive.
I was hesitant to write this review because the seller has been very responsive to questions on the main Amazon product page. However, I tried to reach out to the seller through the information provided on Germozap’s website. The 800 phone number provided doesn’t work because it’s 8 digits (instead of the correct 7), I then tried to email the address on the website and it came back undeliverable. I tried to use the Amazon automated chat and it wouldn’t allow me to send my issues. So went ahead and reviewed the product. As of writing this review, I have been unable to contact the seller to see if they could remedy my issues. In the end I will probably return this product because I have too many questions about it.
