FAQs

A: UVC radiation is a known disinfectant for air, water, and nonporous surfaces. UVC radiation has effectively been used for decades to reduce the spread of bacteria, such as tuberculosis. For this reason, UVC lamps are often called “germicidal” lamps.

UVC radiation has been shown to destroy the outer protein coating of the SARS-Coronavirus.

A: Because UVC light kills bacteria and viruses, it is considered to be a pesticide even though it does not consist of, or produce chemicals.  Therefore, all UVC devices are regulated by the Environmental Protection Agency.

UVC lights intended for medical purposes, such as products that disinfect other medical devices or irradiate part of the human body are considered medical devices and are also regulated by the FDA.

Our devices are NOT meant for use on humans, cannot prevent illness or treat any illness. They are meant to clean air and surfaces of dangerous bacteria and viruses so we are regulated by the EPA.

Our EPA Establishment Number is 97721-CA-1

There are a lot of substandard and even fake devices in the marketplace.  That’s why we started Germozap.  We wanted to create safe and effective devices we can use in our own homes!

We test every device with an accredited third-party lab before we decide to sell it and we only sell devices with superior disinfection rates.

We make those reports available for you to see and even download if you wish so you can be confident you are buying the most effective UVC sanitizers for your home and business.

You can find those reports in each product listing and in the Microbial Reports section of our website.

Also, for devices which do not use LED bulbs, there is a special UVC test card to measure the UVC. We include a free card with each non-LED product we sell so you can see the light work.

We also sell UVC dosimeter cards so you can determine the dosage from each device.
